Burnout & Work-Life Balance Therapy

Work-life balance counseling for burnout recovery

When Achievement Costs You Everything Else

When achievement becomes the priority, emotional wellbeing is usually the first thing to get sacrificed. Not deliberately. It just quietly goes to the bottom of the list, week after week, until you cannot remember the last time you felt like yourself.

Together we identify the patterns contributing to the exhaustion, the stress, and the disconnection, so you can build a life that feels both successful and sustainable. Not one at the expense of the other.

Burnout Often Looks Like

What We Work On

Recovering Baseline Energy

Understanding what is actually draining you, which is often not the obvious thing.

Boundaries at Work

Building limits that hold, including the internal permission to enforce them.

The Guilt Around Rest

Untangling productivity from worth so that downtime stops feeling like failure.

Overcommitment Patterns

Looking at why yes comes out of your mouth before you have decided anything.

Career Clarity

Sorting out what needs to change in the job from what needs to change in how you relate to it.

Life Outside Work

Rebuilding the relationships, interests, and rhythms that got squeezed out.

Questions About This Work

Is burnout the same as depression?

They overlap and they are not identical. Burnout is typically tied to chronic stress in a specific context, often work or caregiving. Depression is broader and shows up across contexts. Part of early sessions is sorting out which you are dealing with, or whether it is both.

Do I have to quit my job to recover?

Usually not. Most burnout recovery happens through changing boundaries, expectations, and internal patterns rather than through leaving. If a job genuinely is unsustainable, we will name that honestly, but that is not the default assumption.

I do not have time for therapy. That is the problem.

Fair. That is exactly why sessions are online. Fifty minutes from wherever you are, no commute on either end. For most people that is the difference between therapy being possible and being one more thing they cannot fit in.
