Trauma & Emotional Healing

Emotional healing and trauma recovery counseling

When the Past Still Shapes the Present

Past experiences can quietly shape the way you relate to yourself, to other people, and to the world around you. Often in ways that made complete sense at the time and no longer serve you now.

Therapy can help you understand those patterns, process unresolved pain at a pace you control, and move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and emotional freedom. This work is trauma-informed, which means we go at your speed and you are never pushed into telling a story you are not ready to tell.

Trauma Can Show Up As

What We Work On

Understanding the Pattern

Connecting current reactions to their origins without getting stuck there.

Nervous System Regulation

Building practical tools for the moments your body responds before you can think.

Safety and Pacing

Establishing stability first. We do not open anything you are not resourced to handle.

Relational Trauma

Working with harm that happened inside relationships, including family.

Grief and Loss

Processing what was lost, including things that were never named as losses.

Moving Forward

Rebuilding a sense of agency and a future that is not defined by what happened.

Questions About This Work

Do I have to talk about the details?

No. Trauma-informed work does not require you to narrate everything that happened. A great deal of meaningful trauma work happens without detailed retelling, and you control what you share and when.

Does what I went through count as trauma?

If it still affects how you function, it is worth working on. There is no severity threshold you have to clear. People frequently minimize their own experiences, and that minimizing is often part of the pattern.

Is online therapy appropriate for trauma work?

For many people yes, and for some it is actually preferable because being in your own space provides more sense of control. During the consultation we will talk about your situation specifically and whether this format fits, and if a higher level of care is a better match I will tell you honestly.
